Emergency crews are on the scene of a fatal two-alarm fire at a home in Brampton.

Brampton Fire and Emergency Services (BFES) says firefighters were called to a home in the area of Treeline Blvd. and Airport Rd. shortly before 10:00 a.m. on Friday.

Peel Regional Police have confirmed that one person has died, saying the body of a man was located at the scene.

A photo shared by BFES shows smoke coming from the second-storey window of a home with firefighters, police officers and paramedics with a stretcher on the scene.

Police have not disclosed any additional details about the victim.

No other injuries were reported in the blaze but emergency crews are asking residents to avoid the area while they were on the scene.

BFES said the blaze had been brought under control around 12:45 p.m. and crews will remain on the scene for fire watch. The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate.
