One person dead following a collision in Brampton

A woman has died following a collision in Brampton Monday night.
The woman was reportedly hit by a vehicle near Major William Sharpe Drive and Chinguacousy Road in Brampton just after 11 p.m. Monday (Aug. 14).
The woman later died in hospital, Peel Regional Police told insauga.com.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
There are some reports the woman was walking with or on a motorcycle at the time of the crash. But police said the woman was a pedestrian and no motorcycle involved.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
