One of Korea’s biggest fried chicken chains celebrates a grand opening in Mississauga this month.
NeNe, a popular fried chicken restaurant in South Korea, has opened a location at 4032 Confederation Parkway in the City Centre.
The restaurant had a soft opening on Nov. 8 and the grand opening celebration is planned for Nov. 22 and 23.
With over 1,000 locations, the restaurant is one of the biggest fried chicken chains in South Korea, according to the website. NeNe has been serving authentic Korean fried chicken since 1999, they say.
The only other Ontario locations are in Vaughan, Toronto and North York.
The Korean-style chicken is marinated, moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The menu includes chicken sandwiches and side dishes such as fries, corn cheese, fried squid and kimchi fried rice.
There are also popular Korean dishes like tteokbokki, which is rice and fish cakes in a sweet and spicy broth, and japchae, a sweet potato noodle stir-fried dish with vegetables and meat.
Celebrations for the opening include giveaways. The first 50 customers will receive a free fried chicken-tasting box at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22.
“Come by, bring your friends, and enjoy amazing food, exciting prizes, and a lot of fun,” NeNe said on Instagram.
