One of Canada’s largest Tesla supercharging stations is coming soon to a popular Brampton shopping plaza.
Crews have officially broken ground on the new Tesla Supercharger station coming to Brampton’s Trinity Common Mall, which is expected to bring 24 electric vehicle charging bays to the city.
A development application was filed to the City showing plans for the Supercharger in the parking lot directly to the west of the Rogers store, and social media user @tslaTo1000 spotted crews working at the site on Thursday and shared the photo with Insauga.com.
Blueprints show the proposed charging station would have stalls built along the outer edges of the parking area, and the overall number of parking stalls would remain unaffected.
There are several other Tesla charging locations across the city, but the Trinity Common Mall Supercharger station would be the largest in Brampton and tie with Hope, B.C. for the second largest in Canada.
The Brampton Supercharger would have been the largest in the country if not for 32-stall stations in Mississauga and Richmond, B.C.
Tesla says Superchargers can add up to 322 kilometres of driving range off just a 15-minute charge, and stops “are typically short and convenient” as charging “above 80 percent is rarely necessary.”
