UPDATE: Police lay charges in Brampton bank robbery

Attempted robbery ends with conspiracy charge for 2 men from Caledon and Oshawa

Officers made a quick to make an arrest after an alleged bank robbery in Brampton on Thursday, leading to charges for a 42-year-old man.

According to Peel Regional Police (PRP), officers were called to a bank in the area of Queen St. and Dixie Rd. in Brampton shortly before 12:00 p.m. for reports of a robbery.

An earlier report from police said incident occurred near Bramalea City Centre Dr. and Peel Centre Dr.

Police said a man entered the bank and used a threatening note to demand for money from a bank employee.
The suspect obtained a quantity of currency and fled the scene.

Just 10 minutes later, police say officers located and arrested the suspect, who was reportedly “in possession of robbery-related property.”

The suspect was described as a six-foot-tall man with two braids, an average build and glasses.

Police say James Arns, 42, of no fixed address has been charged with one count of robbery.

James was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice on Friday.

Police said there were no weapons seen during the alleged robbery and there were no physical injuries.
