One dead after SUV rollover on major road in Halton Hills, Ontario

A 78-year-old Rockwood, Ont. man was killed when the SUV he was driving lost control and rolled over on Highway 7 in Georgetown late Friday morning.
According to OPP Highway Safety Division officers, the SUV was travelling eastbound near Trafalgar Road at about 11:30 a.m. when it crossed into the westbound lanes and rolled over.
The vehicle reportedly crashed through a chain-link fence and came to rest on its roof on grass by a wooded area.
The 78-year-old driver of the SUV was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, police said. Officers determined the man was from nearby Rockwood, just west of Halton Hills.
A section of Highway 7 near the rollover, between Trafalgar Road and Side Road 22, was closed for about four hours while police investigated and removed the SUV from the scene.
Police haven’t said what might have caused the single-vehicle collision. whether it may have been a medical emergency experienced by the driver or something else.
The investigation continues.
