If you’re heading back to work after the long weekend, don’t be fooled by the sunshine. Layer up and stay warm as temperatures are set to dip close to freezing and a frost advisory is in effect across southern Ontario.
For those looking forward to a stunning morning sky, Tuesday’s sunrise is set for 7:32 a.m., though clouds may obstruct the view.
Residents in Mississauga and Brampton will wake up to mainly cloudy skies, while Durham, Hamilton, and Halton regions can expect partly cloudy conditions.
Environment Canada has also issued a frost advisory as temperatures are anticipated to drop near or below freezing.
Winds are expected to pick up by noon across the region, reaching speeds up to 40 km/h.
Daytime highs will rise to 10 C in Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Durham, while Hamilton will be slightly cooler at 9 C.
Sunset begins at 6:33 p.m.
By evening, skies are expected to stay cloudy, with a 40 to 70 per cent chance of rain. Brisk winds may pick up again, reaching speeds of 40 km/h.
Halton and Durham regions could see a surprise mix of wet snow after midnight.
Sun and clouds are forecasted to return by Wednesday and last through Friday. Daytime highs will range between 9 C and 16 C, while evening lows will reach as low as 0 C for the first time since summer, hovering around 1 C to 3 C on some nights.
