Numerous reports of spiked beverages have hit social venues in the Niagara area

Police in Niagara have put out a warning after reports of multiple drinks being spiked in several venues.
As a result of these alleged instances of laced beverages, Niagara Regional Police Services (NRPS) are stating that the public throughout municipalities in the Niagara area remains vigilant when going to a bar, restaurant or club.
NRPS Detectives are advising the public to:
We advise everyone to:
- Never leave a drink unattended.
- Ensure observation of a beverage being prepared by a bartender.
- Use extreme caution when accepting drinks from strangers.
- Look out for friends and loved ones and keep them aware of safety measures.

NRPS detectives advise any members of the public whose drink has been tampered with, to seek immediate medical attention and report the incident to the Niagara Regional Police Service.
Anyone with information on these alleged spikings is asked to contact police immediately.
