It could get cloudy across southern Ontario for the end of the week but temperatures should still stay above the seasonal norm despite blustery conditions.
Environment Canada says you can still count on warmer-than-average temperatures on Friday in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, the GTA and surrounding area, even with cloud cover expected for most of the day.
Friday’s high expected at Pearson International Airport in Mississauga will be 13 C, while the St. Catharines and Niagara area will heat up even more to 14 C. The overnight low will range from 2 C to around 4 C, Environment Canada says.
The agency is also calling for winds between 30 km/h gusting up to 60 km/h in Mississauga with speeds of up to 80 km/h in Barrie.
A “Texas low” system that’s brought warm air north is the reason for the unseasonable weather across southern Ontario this week, according to the Weather Network.
A 65-year-old temperature was broken on Tuesday with a high of 22.5 C at Pearson by 10 a.m. cruising past the previous high of 20 C for Nov. 5 set back in 1959.
The warm front isn’t expected to last much longer with a return to more-average temperatures next week with a high on Monday of 6 C creeping up to 8 C on Tuesday.
As for the weekend, the mercury will dip slightly in Mississauga on Saturday to around 8 C (the average for this time of year) with Environment Canada calling for a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 12 C on Sunday.
