It should be a mild and dry day in Mississauga and southern Ontario on Thursday as unseasonably warm weather is expected to stick around for the rest of the work week.
Environment Canada is calling for highs between 9 C and 14 C across southern Ontario with temperatures on Thursday expected to hit 13 C in Mississauga, above the normal seasonal high of around 8 C.
The overnight low is expected to be around 7 C.
The warmer weather should extend into Friday with a high of 10 C in Mississauga, Brampton and Hamilton, dipping to 7 C for the start of the weekend.
In Toronto, daytime highs will reach 14 C on Thursday. The city broke a 65-year-old temperature record on Tuesday with a high of 22.5 C at Pearson International Airport in Mississauga by 10 a.m., cruising past the previous high for Nov. 5 of 20 C set back in 1959.
The Weather Network says the warm weather is due to a “Texas low” that’s drug unseasonably warm air north, but the warm front won’t last.
Despite the weekend’s highs expected to remain well above freezing, there will be a return of wet weather on Sunday with Environment Canada calling for a 30 per cent chance of showers.
You can expect to feel more seasonable mid-fall weather next week when Tuesday’s high is expected to be around 7 C.
