Nov. 20 weather: Rain and fog in the forecast for southern Ontario

While snow is in the forecast for some cities Laster this week, Wednesday will see foggy patches and periods of rain in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and much of southern Ontario.

Environment Canada is calling for drizzle starting on Tuesday evening and overnight, with a 40 per cent chance of more rain on Wednesday.

The agency says to expect between 10 mm to 20 mm of rain in the Greater Toronto Area.

Some parts of the province like Hamilton, Niagara Falls and St. Catharines are also expected to see periods of fog patches in the morning.

Despite the rain, Environment Canada is calling for another warmer-than-average high of 11 C in Mississauga on Wednesday, which is almost twice as high as the seasonal norm of 6 C. Overnight the mercury will drop to around 1 C.

Mississauga, Brampton and Hamilton will also see westerly winds of around 40 km/h gusting up to 60 km/h on Wednesday, dropping down to around 20 km/h after midnight.

Later in the week, areas in north Durham Region such as Port Perry could see snow heading into the weekend with a40 per cent chance of showers or flurries on Friday and Saturday.

North of Peel Region, Orangeville’s forecast includes a 30 per cent chance of rain or flurries on Thursday, increasing to 60 per cent on Friday evening.

The Weather Network is calling for snow in Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto and Durham Region on Dec. 1.
