Residents new to the city can take in a guided tour of Brampton’s sights and services with the Newcomer Bus Tour.
Back for another season, the tour is open to residents who moved to Brampton after Jan. 1, 2020, and will take them to notable landmarks across the city.
Some stops include the Cassie Campbell Community Centre, The Rose Brampton Theatre, Chinguacousy Park, bus and train stations, and library branches among others.
Guests can also take in a bike safety demonstration sponsored by Toronto Pearson Airport and presented by Brampton Library, Brampton Transit, and the City of Brampton.
“The Newcomer Tour is a great opportunity for new residents to our city to become familiar with our community and transit network,” said Heidi Dempster, General Manager of Brampton Transit. “Brampton Transit takes great pride in welcoming newcomers to Brampton and continues to work hard to provide an inclusive environment for all current and new riders.”
Summer tours will take place on Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and again on Aug. 17 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Residents can register online at www.bramptonlibrary.ca or by phone at 905-793-4636, and both tours will leave from the Brampton Library Springdale branch at 10705 Bramalea Rd.
“We’re so excited to continue to offer these tours, which provide a welcoming introduction to all that Brampton has to offer for our newest residents,” said Brampton Library CEO Todd Kyle.
