A new sushi restaurant that has just opened in Mississauga brings unique takes to classic rolls.
Kaze Sushi opened at 720 Burnhamthorpe Rd. W., Unit 18, in Mississauga this week.
The new spot for sushi takes traditional Japanese rolls and adds some unique twists.
“We go far beyond the traditional and cliche rolls with our creations,” the website notes.
The Veggie Boss, for example, adds something new to the typical yam tempura and avocado combination. This thick roll combines avocado, cucumber, fried tofu, pickled radish, shiitake mushroom, kanpyo (dried shavings of a calabash gourd), radish sprout, and yam, and tops it with potato chips and avocado slices.
The Golden Grilled Salmon features grilled salmon, avocado, and cucumber, topped with jalapeno and sliced cheese.
There’s also a beef asparagus roll, a Keto roll (no rice), and for those who like heat — a spicy challenge Ninja Warrior Maki.
For vegetarians, there are three maki choices on the menu — the Veggie Boss, Yamazing and the Veggie Futo.
“Our progressive approach to sushi & rolls pays homage to the artisanal beauty of traditional sushi while also pushing the boundaries by combining sushi with other global cuisines and flavour profiles,” the website adds.
Those wanting to give this place a try should hurry, Kaze Sushi is offering 30 per cent off as an opening week special from May 15 to 20.
