Ruth Bader Ginsburg one-woman play comes to Mississauga

A play capturing the remarkable life of Ruth Bader Ginsburg comes to Mississauga this spring — the only Canadian date.

Written by Tony-award-winning playwright Rupert Holmes, the play, All Things Equal – The Life and Trials of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, tells the story of the Supreme Court Justice lovingly nicknamed “RBG”, according to a press release from the Living Arts Centre.

The play covers her life and its many trials including losing her mother the day before she graduated as valedictorian of her Brooklyn high school, being one of only nine young women studying law at Harvard while also raising a daughter and helping her husband battle cancer.

Ginsburg may be most well-known for fighting for women’s rights in the 1970s.

The play stars Michelle Azar as Ruth Bader Ginsburg and is directed by Laley Lipard.

“Bring your scrunchies, your hankies, your humour and your heart to this entertaining and uplifting event,” the press release states.

The production will be at the Living Arts Centre, 4141 Living Arts Dr., for one day only, Friday, April 26 at 8 p.m.

The Mississauga stop appears to be the only Canadian date on the winter/spring 2024 tour.

Tickets start at $55 and are on sale now for the show.
