New Oakville condo The Residences at Bronte Lakeside is showcasing transparency and communication in the development process

A new condo community coming to Oakville is getting attention for openly and transparently sharing its development plans with the public.

Since launching in 2022, The Residences at Bronte Lakeside in Oakville has been in constant contact with their purchasers and those considering the project for their next home.

The new development has made it a point to keep them all up to date on the progress of the condominium, and they were delighted to hear that demolition is underway and scheduled to be completed by the end of August. Construction is the next step.

As part of the process, we felt it would be helpful to explain the various stages of construction so that people can understand step by step what is happening on site. Here’s a short overview of how the construction process evolves.

The first phase of demolition is a critical component of the project because it literally paves the way for everything else to come. Having sold enough suites in the building to begin construction, Alliance United is committed to maintaining its demanding schedule in an effort to deliver The Residences at Bronte Lakeside on time.

A key feature of Bronte Lakeside is its GeoExchange system, which will make it one of the most energy-efficient and affordable condominium developments in Halton. Alliance United’s construction team is drilling 45 holes, each approximately 450 feet deep, to facilitate the critical exchange of the earth’s energy.

This system will heat the residences during cold Canadian winters and cool them during Southern Ontario’s humid summers. It has been designed by TRAK International Green Energy Systems, the North American leader in energy-efficient and sustainable GeoExchange systems.

Alliance United is in the process of relocating its on-site presentation centre for Bronte Lakeside a few metres down the road to 2318 Lakeshore Rd W. The presentation centre features a full-scale model of the development, and has become a hub for social events, catered meet-and-greets, and educational seminars for purchasers and others interested in the development.

Following the relocation of the presentation centre and after all demolition is complete, excavating and shoring of the site will begin — the latter with structural buttresses, and weather permitting, this phase should take around six to eight months before moving to above-grade construction.

The building’s skeletal structure is the next significant step, where Alliance United’s concrete forming contractors and trade workers will become engaged to a greater degree. Since Bronte Lakeside is a six-storey building, this construction phase typically progresses more quickly.

By autumn of 2026, trade workers will have installed the building’s mechanical systems, completed its structure, envelope and roofing — making the structure watertight — and then they swiftly move on to the important interior finishes. This is where the delineation of the suites happens and the amenity spaces are incorporated.

This stage is also where the all-important interior design of the suites takes place and moves towards the completion of each of the homes to the specifications outlined for each purchaser. We have worked with many of the purchasers who have customized their new homes and some that have combined suites to gain additional living space.

We have found that so many of the units are truly individual in their design – each one will have its own identity.

Move-in day finally comes next for the residents, and they will occupy the building one floor at a time.  During this phase, the building amenities will be completed. The Residences at Bronte Lakeside will then be finished and welcoming its new inhabitants.

It is wonderful to see that many of our purchasers have had the opportunity to meet one another at some of our events. It will be a great day when this new community known as The Residences at Bronte Lakeside comes to fruition.
