A grocery store chain celebrates the grand opening of a new location in Mississauga this week.

Longo’s officially opens its 39th location this Wednesday (May 15) in Mississauga’s Meadowvale neighbourhood, at 2975 Argentia Rd.

Longo’s Meadowvale offers a selection of produce, meat and sustainably sourced seafood. The new location will have a market-style bakery and deli with cookies and freshly squeezed orange juice, ready-to-go meals, a sushi and poke bar and a Starbucks, according to a press release from Longo’s.

This opening marks the fifth Longo’s store in Mississauga.

The grand opening celebrations start at 8 a.m. on Wednesday and the first customers will be “clapped in” by Longo’s team members. The first 250 guests will receive a mystery gift card valued between $5 and $500

There will celebratory “apple bite,” a Longo’s tradition where staff and officials bite into an apple rather than cutting a ribbon.
