A new Dominican Republic airline will offer a low-price option from Pearson Airport in Mississauga.

Arajet, a low-fare airline based in the Dominican Republic announced it will begin a new route from Pearson to Santo Domingo from Oct. 24.

“Our new flight from Pearson International to Las Américas International in Santo Domingo will allow our Dominican diaspora to come home with the best possible fares, while enabling more Canadians to visit our island as we continue increasing the exchange between our two countries,” said Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and founder of Arajet in a press release.

The new Toronto – Santo Domingo route will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Tickets start from US $179 each way (taxes and fees included).

The route will also connect Toronto with other destinations in South, Central America and the Caribbean that will be announced later this year.
