A new hotel is slated to open this summer at a $1 billion property with a casino at the Mississauga and Toronto border.
The new hotel at the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto alongside the Woodbine Racetrack at 555 Rexdale Blvd., will open on Aug. 1, according to a press release from Great Canadian Entertainment.
Great Canadian Entertainment, founded in 1982, is a gaming and hospitality company with 25 gaming, entertainment, hospitality and resort facilities in Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
The new resort near Pearson Airport is on a $1 billion property and also includes a casino, which just opened its gaming floor on June 20.
The gaming floor features 4,800 slot machines, 145 table games, restaurants such as Copperhorn Meet House, gastropub CA·SU·AL, and Noodlebox, along with a 3,800-space parkade.
A poker room, featuring 30 tables on a private floor along with electronic table games and slots, will open later this summer. The poker room will also include four tables in a semi-private area for “higher stakes games.”
The 400-bed hotel at the resort offers 400- to 840-square-foot rooms. Half of the guest rooms have views of Woodbine Racetrack.
Each guest room has a 55-inch smart TV, in-room safe, complimentary Wi-Fi, a mini fridge, and a coffee maker.
Prestige suites include a separate living room, a fully equipped kitchenette with a full-size fridge and microwave, and a spacious bathroom with a separate tub and shower.
The hotel will also have a wellness area, featuring a fitness centre with “best-in-class equipment,” a heated indoor pool, a hot tub, and a steam room. The wellness area is set to open over the next several weeks in phases.
In the coming months, the resort will also open “a state-of-the-art” 5,000-person theatre with additional dining options and retail shops.
