Fried chicken lovers in Oakville and Mississauga can now enjoy the “taste of Texas” here.

Church’s Texas Chicken has opened up a location at 2501 Hampshire Gate in Oakville.

Formerly known as Church’s Chicken, the popular fresh-fried chicken fast-food restaurant offers chicken sandwiches, meals, tenders, wraps and more.

The menu features the “boldest range” of crunch chicken, flaky Honey-Butter biscuits and “flavour poppin'” sides.

Church’s Texas Chicken’s beginnings date back to San Antonio, Texas in 1952.

“We’re the taste of Texas and we can’t be mimicked,” the restaurant said on its website. “We’re real, but not boring. Simple, but not basic. Familiar, but always surprising. That’s why no matter the day, no matter who you’re with, you’re eager to c’mon over, give your chicken a spicy jalapeno squeeze and share some hearty sides.

“It’s why our taste always delivers, time and again. Why our food means more than hand-crafted, fried chicken meals that harken back to simpler times.”

The restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday to Thursday and from 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
