There is going to be a new place to buy food in Burlington.

The Aldershot Farmers Market is scheduled to open May 25 and operate every Saturday until Oct. 26.

Located at 1016 Waterdown Road, the market will feature farm-fresh locally grown vegetables and fruit as well as meats, cheese, eggs, prepared foods and baked goods.

As well, there will be a rotating array of pop-ups and food trucks that will serve such items as wood-fired pizza, Texas-style smoked ribs and brisket, grilled raclette cheese sandwiches and more.

The expectation is the boutique market will have 25 vendor spaces available offering a curated selection of products from some of the area’s top farms and artisans.

“It will be an amazing opportunity to connect with local growers, makers and neighbours and all those in the community,” say the operators of the market.

More news about the market will be announced in the days leading up to the opening.

Operating hours will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The website for the market has just been launched. You can find it here.
