Despite finishing second, NDP leader Andrea Horwath stepped away from the NDP leadership after losing badly to Doug Ford’s Conservatives in the Provincial election.
In a stunning turn during her speech, Horwath pulled out a tissue, dabbed her eyes and announced she was stepping away from her leadership, saying she was passing along her torch.
The Conservatives won 82 seats to the NDP’s 29.
Now the Liberals and the NDP will have to hold leadership conventions as Liberals got creamed with just eight seats so leader Stephen Del Duca also announced he was stepping away.
