Mississauga murder Nov. 15, 2023

Homicide investigators hope tips from the public will help them solve Mississauga’s ninth murder of 2023, in which a man was shot to death in the city’s southwest end late last Wednesday night.

Peel Regional Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone else with information related to the “targeted” shooting death that took place near Royal Windsor Drive and Winston Churchill Boulevard at about 10 minutes to midnight on Nov. 15.

Upon arrival on the crime scene in the industrial area, police located the victim, 22, suffering from gunshot injuries.

“Despite the best efforts of first responders, the victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased,” police said in a news release.

Police believe the shooting was a targeted incident and say there is no risk to the general public.

Anyone with information or video footage (dashcam or otherwise) is urged to contact homicide detectives at 905-453-2121, ext. 3205, or Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

In an unrelated shooting death, police are still searching for the killer responsible for Mississauga’s eighth murder of the year, which took place early on Oct. 29 in Malton.

In what police say was also a targeted shooting, the victim was pronounced dead at the Goreway Drive and Morning Star Drive scene shortly after the shooting, which took place just minutes after midnight.

After receiving a call for shots fired, responding officers arrived on the scene to find the victim suffering from “apparent gunshot injuries.” First responders were unable to save the man’s life.

Homicide investigators are remaining tight-lipped about the incident. They haven’t revealed the man’s name or age or any other details of the shooting, including where exactly it took place.

Police have not released any description of the shooter.
