Peel Regional Police have arrested a man in connection to a fatal, targeted shooting in Mississauga last month.

Shots rang out shortly after midnight on Oct. 29 near Goreway Dr. and Morning Star Dr. A man was struck and later identified as Alton Fisher, 49 of Peterborough. Fisher was alive when first responders arrived, but he soon succumbed to his injuries despite paramedics’ best efforts. Police immediately concluded this was a targeted attack and there was no further threat to the public.

Nearly two weeks later, police arrested Sane Stewart, 43 of Toronto, on a second-degree murder charge. Investigators did not comment on what if any relationship existed between the pair. Stewart remains in custody and will appear in a Brampton courtroom.

Anyone with information about the murder can call police at 905-453-2121 ext. 3205 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
