Murder charge laid against St. Catharines man

A St. Catherines man faces first-degree murder charges in the death of a man found in Port Colborne.
Daniel Sanvido, 38, was found dead on a grassy area in the Forkes Road and Highway 140 area of Port Colborne in August.
On Thursday, detectives arrested 36-year-old Jade Hayward of St. Catharines, Niagara Regional Police said.
Hayward is charged with first-degree murder, police said.
He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Friday at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.
