Motorcyclist in custody after ‘traffic investigation’ at busy Mississauga intersection

UPDATE: The Special Investigations Unit has been notified and has invoked their mandate. Lane closures remain in effect in at 9 p.m.

An ongoing police investigation has shut down street lanes at a busy Mississauga intersection early Friday evening (June 14).

Peel Regional Police have placed the rider of a motorcycle in custody following what they are calling a “traffic investigation” in the area of Hurontario Street and Mathewson Boulevard.

Police were called to the scene at 4:51 p.m.

Closures to street lanes in the area are expected.

Police are asking commuters to use alternate routes while the investigation continues.
