Most popular Tim Hortons menu items of 2023 released in Canada

Tim Hortons has released its most popular menu items in Canada for 2023 and there might be a few surprises on the list.

An old favourite, the Boston Cream donut, has been knocked out of the top spot for the Apple Fritter, according to a press release from Tims.

When Tim Hortons shared a list of Canada’s favourite donuts back in 2020, the Boston Cream took the top spot while the Apple Fritter was a close runner-up.

“The Apple Fritter has always been a top donut at Tims but since adding 40 per cent more apples to our recipe last year I can confidently say we’ve never made a better version of this all-time classic,” says Axel Schwan, president of Tim Hortons.

However, the Boston Cream is still the favourite donut in Atlantic Canada, the press release noted.

Here are Tim Hortons favourite orders in Canada in 2023:

• Donut – Apple Fritter
• Coffee order – the Double Double (double cream and sugar)
• Cold drink – Tims Iced Capp
• Espresso-based drink – Tims Latte
• Breakfast – the Sausage Farmer’s Wrap
• Top bagel – the Everything Bagel
• Timbits  – Chocolate Glazed
• Dream Cookie – M&M’S Minis chocolate candies
• Lunch/dinner item – Turkey Bacon Club
• Loaded bowl and wrap – Cilantro Lime

Tim Hortons also noted Fridays at 9 a.m. were the busiest for their restaurants.

In grocery stores, the best-selling flavour of Tim Hortons soup was chicken noodle, while on TimShop.ca, the vintage logo unisex hoodie was the top-selling merch.

And Tims guests in Canada and the United States supported the store’s charitable programs more than ever before in 2023, helping raise over $44 million between Camp Day, Smile Cookie, Holiday Smile Cookie, Special Olympics Donut and the Orange Sprinkle Donut campaign.
