Most Canadians are worried the country is not heading in the right direction: survey

Recent statistics have revealed that, on a national level, most Canadians are concerned about the country’s general trajectory.
In a recent poll by Abacus Data — a Canadian research firm — aspects of the country’s political leanings were analyzed on a province-by-province basis.
Apart from shifts in political priorities, as Abacus’s research cited a national lean into favoring the Conservative Party of Canada — a much different statistic emerged from the report.
From Sept. 2022 to Oct. 2024, researchers within Abacus charted the general view Canadians had regarding the state of the world parallel to global perspectives.
As indicated by the data, the boom/bust nature of geopolitical confidence within Canada and by extension, the world, ran mostly neck and neck.
However, compared to the all-time high of Sept. 2022, where 36 per cent of Canadians felt that the country is in a favorable state, only 25 per cent believe so now.
This leaves a massive 63 per cent margin of survey respondents — according to Abacus — believing that Canada is not where it needs to be as a country.
The poll conducted by Abacus Data relied on a pool of 1,500 Canadian respondents and is available for public viewing on their official website.
