More thunderstorms are in the forecast this week for southern Ontario.
The weather has turned warm this week with a high of 18 to 19 C expected in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and Durham Region today (April 10), according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
Burlington and Oakville are slightly cooler with a high of 16 C in the forecast.
Average temperatures for this time of year should be around 10 C to zero.
The warmer weather seems to be bringing storms.
There were thunderstorms forecast for last night and they are back on Thursday (April 11).
“A Texas low is next in the cards for the province,” Environment Canada said in a post on X.
This system will be dominated by rain, showers and a risk of thunderstorms over southern and northeastern Ontario on Thursday into Saturday, the weather forecaster said.
After clear, sunny skies this morning, increasing cloudiness is expected to roll in with periods of rain beginning after midnight.
The rain will continue Thursday with a risk of a thunderstorm in the afternoon.
Rain continues Friday and into Saturday but sunny skies are in the forecast for Sunday, according to Environment Canada.
