More than 1,000 cyclists of all ages are expected to take to the trails across Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon this Saturday (June 18) for the annual Bike the Creek rides.
And there’s still a little time for more people to join. Registration for the event, which has been staged since 2014, ends today.
“Bike the Creek is an awesome community event that raises awareness on the benefits of cycling and how active transportation is essential to building a healthy and sustainable community,” event organizers say. “It inspires the community to get out and enjoy cycling…” and it also highlights the “incredible trail system” in Peel.
The event is jointly organized by the City of Mississauga, City of Brampton, Town of Caledon, BikeBrampton, and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.
Participants, who can choose from a number of different cycling routes, will receive a free lunch after their ride.
The event offers shorter family rides (of five and 12km) in addition to a nature ride (27km) and several longer routes of 30km, 61km and 65km.
Those interested can register until the end of the day today.
