Some fan favourites will fill the screen when Movies by the Lake returns to Burlington this summer.

Brought to viewers by the Burlington Downtown Business Association (BDBA), the films are free at Spencer Smith Park starting in July and continuing each week until the end of August.

“Make it a night (or several!) to remember as an amazing ensemble awaits you at this free event series,” writes the BDBA on its website. “With a supporting cast of dinner and drinks, shopping and exploring before the show, package your own cinematic evening alongside our over 400 businesses. With several of our small businesses making cameos in the park each week, supporting local has never been so easy.”

Along with the movies, there will be trivia and other surprises each night.

Here are the movies:

  • July 9 — Back to the Future
  • July 16 — Dodgeball
  • July 23 — The Wizard
  • July 30 — Elf
  • Aug. 6 — Jurassic Park
  • Aug. 13 — 50 First Dates
  • Aug. 20 — Top Gun (1986)

If it rains, the movie will be cancelled. All cancellations will be posted on social media networks @DTBURLINGTONON via Instagram & Facebook.

And Spencer Smith Park is not the only place to watch free movies this summer. Other parks will be showing films on various nights. Follow this link to see what is available.
