More cases reported in COVID-19 outbreak at Brampton long term care home

More cases are being reported at a long term care home in Brampton that’s affected by an outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
According to Sienna Living, 14 more residents have tested positive for COVID-19 at Hawthorn Woods Care Home for a total of 47 active resident cases.
Three residents have died from the virus.
There are additionally 19 active staff cases.
The outbreak was originally declared on Saturday, October 31.
“The residence has added several additional steps to protect residents and team members, including deep cleaning with a specialized machine and IPAC audits,” said Sienna Living.
“The residence is fully staffed and is being supported by a nurse practitioner and physician.”
