1984 Olympic medalist, Angela Bailey of Mississauga, has died

Angela Bailey, a 1984 Olympic medalist and considered one of the top athletes ever produced by Mississauga, has died.
Her death was confirmed by Athletics Canada. She was 59.
Bailey attended The Woodlands Secondary School where she was a star performer in track and field.
She was part of the Canadian 4 x 100 relay team that won the silver medal at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Her time of 10.98 seconds recorded in 1987 still stands as the fasted time for a Canadian woman in the 100 metre sprint. She also holds the 200 metre indoor national record with 23.32 seconds set in 1984.
Bailey also won medals in the Commonwealth Games and the 1987 World Indoor Championships.
