After decades of buying lottery tickets, a Mississauga resident finally won big.

Darko Hribar of Mississauga won a $1 million Maxmillions prize in the June 21 LOTTO MAX draw, OLG said in a press release.

Hribar, a 53-year-old father of two, said he’s been playing the lottery for decades.

“When I scanned my ticket using the OLG App, I felt joy and disbelief! My wife felt the same,” he said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

He said this win feels like a weight lifted from him.

“I no longer have any worries about the future,” he said. “I am going to purchase a home for retirement.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Woodbine Ave. in Keswick.
