Mississauga QEW lanes closed nightly through next Monday

Four lanes of the QEW in Mississauga will be closed each night through next Monday (Oct. 17) as crews continue work on the rehabilitation of the highway bridge over the Credit River.

The westbound QEW off-ramp to Mississauga Rd. will also be closed, on Thursday and Friday (Oct. 13-14) from midnight to 5 a.m. the following mornings, according to officials with the QEW/Credit River Improvement Project, who are overseeing the massive undertaking.

Also, daytime traffic will be impacted Wednesday and Thursday (Oct. 12-13) at the Hurontario St./QEW interchange.

Minor traffic disruptions can be expected both days from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following locations as oversized load girder deliveries are made:

• QEW westbound and westbound off-ramp to Hurontario St.
• Hurontario St. at Harborn Rd.
• Premium Way, from Harborn Rd. to Stavebank Rd.

The following lane closures will be in effect tonight (Oct. 12) through Oct. 17, with closures beginning as early as 11 p.m. and continuing to as late as 8 a.m. some days:

• QEW westbound from Hurontario St. to Erin Mills Pkwy.–first lane from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., second lane from midnight to 5 a.m.
• QEW eastbound from Erin Mills Pkwy to the Credit River bridge–first lane from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., second lane from midnight to 5 a.m.

Temporary nighttime/overnight closures have been commonplace the past several months both on the QEW and on Mississauga Rd. where it connects with the busy highway.

As work continues on the Credit River bridge project, drivers and area residents can expect ongoing traffic disruptions to impact part of the QEW and other areas in the vicinity of Mississauga Rd. and the highway in the coming weeks and months.

Night and weekend work along the 2.6-km stretch of the QEW from Hurontario St. to Mississauga Rd. is expected to impact traffic for the duration of the project.
