Proceedings at Mississauga’s Provincial Offences Court will be done via Zoom beginning next month.

The new video conference program has been put in place by the Ontario Court of Justice as a measure to stop curb the spread of COVID-19.

Previously telephone conferencing and other remote options have been used. The use of Zoom will begin on September 1.

These measures will remain in place until further notice.

The Provincial Offenses Court deals with adult and youth crimes, family law and child welfare cases as well as Highway Traffic Act charges and municipal by-law charges.

The court is located at 950 Burnhamthorpe Rd. W.

A mailed letter about video conference hearing dates will be sent to those who received a summons or had their previous cases adjourned.
