A man from Mississauga is accused of driving impaired while he was already prohibited from getting behind the wheel.

Peel Regional Police says investigators with its road safety services have charged a 34-year-old man with numerous offences, including impaired operation of a vehicle. The investigation began a little more than a week and a half ago after police were alerted to a possible impaired driver.

On May 12, at 10:19 p.m., Peel police officers were called to a restaurant in the area of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Battleford Road in Mississauga for a male exhibiting signs of impairment and leaving in a vehicle. The vehicle and driver were not located at that time.

Investigators identified the driver of the vehicle identified. Last Friday (May 20), he was arrested and charged with the following offences:

Impaired operation
Failure to comply with release order
Driving under suspension — two counts

Ling was held for a bail hearing. He appeared in a Brampton court last Saturday to answer to the charges.
