Multiple hydro poles and lines in Mississauga were downed by a storm in Mississauga late Tuesday afternoon, causing a power outage and a road closure near Pearson Airport.
Alectra Utilities says hundreds of its customers in an area of Mississauga near Pearson Airport will likely be without power until early evening as the result of an outage. A total of 472 businesses and homes in the area of Britannia Road East and Dixie Road are believed to be affected by outages. Crews have been dispatched and the expected time of resumption is 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Update: Around 220 customers remain affected, with a revised resumption time of 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Meantime, Peel Regional Police say Trinity Drive is closed between Bonhill Road and Atlantic Dr. because live hydro wires have been knocked down, creating a safety hazard.
“Stay away from that area,” Peel police said in a social media post at 5:56 p.m. on Tuesday.
No injuries have been reported.
