Junia-T is back with a new video for his latest single “My, My, My,” featuring Briskinthehouse. Directed by MWorks, the raw visual focuses on the dynamic between music and art. This is the first single off of his upcoming album, Son of a (Drum)mer.
“This song is about living how you want to. Despite who the world may want you to be, never lose self,” said Junia-T. “I wanted the visual to highlight the fact that music is also art. Musicians and visual artists live similar lives.”
Last year, Junia-T returned to the scene with his debut Eye See You. Premiering on OkayPlayer, that album smoothly blends the rapper’s raw prose with traces of psychedelia, neo soul, and futuristic vibes; all while reviving the best of backpacker nostalgia. Featuring Little Simz, LordQuest and more, the project was heavily tipped by DJBooth.com, The Source, and 2DopeBoyz, to name a few. Fans can download the album for free on Audiomack or purchase a limited edition physical copy via Bandcamp.
Jonathon “Junia-T” Lindo is an artist, producer and emcee from Mississauga. In 2011, the Toronto Star rated him as one of their top five hip-hop artists of Toronto. Within that same year, he won the freestyle battle on Much Music’s Rap City for five consecutive weeks. He is currently working on his upcoming album, Son of a (Drum)mer.
