Two more QEW lane closures in Mississauga are scheduled for next week as work continues on the rehabilitation of the highway bridge over the Credit River.
Officials with the QEW/Credit River Improvement Project, who are overseeing the massive undertaking, say the latest lane closures will impact traffic on the QEW eastbound from Erin Mills Pkwy. to Mississauga Rd. and the QEW westbound from west of Hurontario St. to Erin Mills Pkwy.
The first eastbound lane will be closed to traffic on Wednesday and Thursday nights (Aug. 24-25) from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning while the second eastbound lane will be shut down from midnight to 5 a.m. on both dates.
Meanwhile, the first westbound lane will shut down from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. both nights/overnights while the second lane will be closed from midnight to 5 a.m.
Project officials say minor traffic disruptions are anticipated due to the closures to allow for nighttime construction.
Closures are dependent on the weather.
As work continues on the massive Credit River bridge project, drivers and area residents can expect ongoing traffic disruptions to impact part of the QEW and other areas in the vicinity of Mississauga Rd. and the highway in the coming weeks and months.
Night and weekend work along the 2.6-km stretch of the QEW from Hurontario St. to Mississauga Rd. is expected to impact traffic for the duration of construction.
