Residents in Peel seem to be stepping up their social media presence according to a report that found Mississauga and Brampton are two of Canada’s “most Instagrammable cities.”

That’s according to real estate experts at Greater Toronto Home Pros who looked at the number of hashtags on Instagram to find the most popular cities in Canada on the social media platform.

Two of Canada’s largest cities topped the list at No. 1 and No. 2, with over 55.6 million posts tagged with #toronto and 26 million posts using #vancouver. But Mississauga and Brampton also snuck onto the list at No. 8 and No. 9 respectively, sandwiched between Québec City in last place and Winnipeg at No. 7.

The report found Brampton is known “for its uniqueness and is presently one of the fastest-growing cities in the country.”

“The city’s popularity on Instagram is shown by #brampton surpassing 4.4 million posts,” the report reads.

From selfies, food pics, business promotions, fashion and much more, #mississauga and #brampton offer snapshots of the cities and could give prospective homeowners a glimpse of what life is like in Mississauga and Brampton is like before moving to town.

“Knowing which great city would be perfect for a relocation can be tricky, which is why these findings are a great way to visually indicate how each city looks and feels for those who live and visit there,” Greater Toronto Home Pros says. “However, now more than ever, social media plays a pivotal role in people deciding where they want to live, and using platforms like Instagram can certainly help when it comes to deciding where to visit or live.”

Mississauga came in just above Brampton on the ranking at No. 8 and 4,736,406 hashtag mentions compared to Brampton’s 4,424,194. Here’s the full list of Canada’s most Instagrammable cities:
