Now that Christmas is over, those in Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon who are sick of their tree will soon be able to dispose of it.
As of January, the Region of Peel will be collecting Christmas trees and wreaths on select days throughout the month.
Those with trees (and wreaths) shorter than three metres (10 feet) can leave it at the curb on scheduled recycling collection days as is.
In order for them to be collected, trees must not be put in bags, or snowbanks, and they must be cleared of all decorations and tinsel.
Those in apartment buildings and condos can leave their trees at the curb by the driveway entrance to the property.
Additionally, those who want to keep their tree for the next month can dispose of it by a Peel Community Recycling Centre—trees that are taller than 3 metres must be cut in half.
