Mississauga and Brampton carjacking and home invasion suspects arrested in Toronto with a gun

Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau have arrested and charged one adult and two young persons following a violent home invasion and two separate carjackings.
On Thursday, September 8, 2022, at approximately 9:10 pm., it is alleged that three suspects attended a residential address on Burlwood Road in the City of Brampton, where they made demands for money while brandishing handguns and fired several shots directed at an occupant of the home.
The suspects fled the area in a dark-coloured sedan. The victim of the home invasion received minor injuries.
A short time later, at 9:35 pm, following the home invasion, the same three suspects attended another residential address on Brisdale Drive in the City of Brampton, where the victim was parked in his driveway occupying a vehicle. The suspects demanded and carjacked the resident’s vehicle at gunpoint. The victim of the carjacking was not injured.
Several hours later, at approximately 5:35 am on Friday, September 9 2022, the same suspects attended a commercial premise on Jarrow Road in the City of Mississauga. The victim arrived at his business place in his vehicle. The suspects approached the victim and pointed a firearm demanding the vehicle. The victim was physically assaulted as the vehicle was taken. The victim suffered minor injuries.
As a result of an investigation conducted by the Central Robbery Bureau, the suspects were located occupying a stolen vehicle in the area of Rathburn Road and The West Mall in the City of Toronto. The three suspects were taken into custody with the assistance of Toronto Police Service uniform officers. A loaded .45 calibre handgun was located on a suspect at the time of his arrest.
As a result of the investigation, Jaionte Wynters Simpson, a 21-year-old man from Waterloo, has been charged with:

- Wear a disguise x3
- Discharge firearm
- Attempt murder while using a firearm
- Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle
A 17-year-old male from Toronto has been charged with:
- Robbery with a firearm x3
- Wear a disguise x3
- Discharge firearm
- Attempt murder while using a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a prohibited firearm
- Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle
A 17-year-old male from Mississauga has been charged with:
- Robbery with a firearm x3
- Wear a disguise x3
- Discharge firearm
- Attempt murder while using a firearm
- Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle
The three accused were held for a bail hearing and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice on September 10, 2022.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and, therefore, the identity of the Young Persons charged in this investigation is protected.

Violent crime will not be tolerated as we work collaboratively with our partner agencies focused on community safety as our highest priority,” Acting Superintendent Sean Brennan.
