Missing Mississauga man with dementia found through a police licence plate reader

A missing Mississauga man was found with the help of a police licence plate reader this month.
The 88-year-old man with dementia from Mississauga was missing for two days earlier this month, OPP said in a press release.
OPP officers were on regular duty patrol on Highway 401 in Lennox and Addington County around 1 a.m. on June 3 when they got a missing person hit on the Automatic Licence Plate Reader System, police said.
The vehicle the man was driving was eventually stopped just east of Odessa on Highway 401, police said.
The man was taken to a Lennox and Addington hospital for observation and reunited with his family.
