Missing man found buried in his yard in Richmond Hill

The remains of a man reported missing in 2018 were found in his yard.
Kevin Bonada Rosas was reported missing on June 26, 2018, York Regional Police said in a press release today (Oct. 24).
His family reported missing and told police he was last seen at his home on Elmwood Avenue in Richmond Hill on June 21, 2018. He was 30 years old at the time of his disappearance. Efforts to find him were unsuccessful.
Then, in April 2021, York police announced the disappearance was deemed suspicious and the homicide unit had taken over.
Human remains were found buried in the yard on June 5 this year and a forensic examination confirmed they were the remains of Rosas, police said today.
The death is being treated as a homicide.
Police are not releasing the cause of death at this time, and there was no further information provided on the case.
Police are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in the investigation.
