Milton GO station closed amid suspicious package investigation

The public is being asked to avoid the area around the GO Train station in Milton while police investigate a suspicious package.
The Halton Regional Police Servcie says there will “an ongoing heavy police presence” as officers investigate after receiving a report about a package left at the station at 780 Main St. E. in Milton.
The HRPS has responded to the Milton GO station following reports of a suspicious package on their premises.
Please avoid the area.

The station is the western terminus of the Milton line. Trains are stopping at the Lisgar station and riders are able to take a shuttle bus to a grocery store parking lot adjacent to the Milton station.
The Union Station 17:55 – Milton GO 18:53 #GOtrain will end at the Lisgar GO station because of a police investigation at the Milton GO station.(1/2)

As we are unable to access the parking lot at the Milton GO station, customers travelling to Milton may take a GO shuttle bus from Lisgar that will take you to the adjacent parking lot at the Superstore.(2/2)

UPDATE: The area was secured at 9:56 p.m., about three hours after the search began.
