For the first time in two years, post-secondary school students in Hamilton will be able to celebrate the completion of their studies in person.
Both Mohawk College and McMaster University announced plans to resume in-person convocation ceremonies this Spring.
Plans are even in the works to hold ceremonies for those students in the 2020-21 graduating classes to celebrate their accomplishments.
“Graduates who missed their in-person ceremony due to the pandemic will be given an opportunity to attend an in-person Convocation this fall,” Mohawk confirmed in a Tweet last week.
“Planning is underway for McMaster’s first fully in-person spring convocation in two years, including celebrations for students from the classes of 2020 and 2021, whose convocations were held virtually because of COVID-19 restrictions,” McMaster said in a message posted to the school’s website.
Mohawk plans to hold their ceremonies from June 20-24 at the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre on the West 5th Campus with limits on the number of guests allowed to attend.
McMaster’s grad ceremonies are scheduled through the end of May and into June and will be held at the FirstOntario Concert Hall in downtown Hamilton.
More details of the events will be posted on the schools’ website as the ceremonies draw nearer.
