Do you love comic books and graphic novels?
If you do, you might be happy to hear that the Mississauga Comic Expo (MCX) is returning to the city today (Oct. 19) and running until Oct. 20.
The event is part of Ontario Public Library Week.
According to the city, the free two-day event will feature local Mississauga and GTA graphic artists, novelists, creators, designers and developers.
Hosted by Mississauga Library, the event is family-friendly and suitable for people of all-ages.
It also has a little something for everyone, as it celebrates the diverse culture of comics, gaming, anime, cosplay and art.
This year’s program will feature an anime marathon, introduction to Dungeons & Dragons, an escape room, robot petting zoo, local artists and exhibitors, an Instagram photo booth, sketch challenge and tons of children’s activities.
The 2018 guest line-up includes Jay Fosgitt (My Little Pony), Megan Kearney (Disney Princess), Ramon Perez (multiple Eisner Award winner), Adam Gorham (Archie Comics, Marvel Comics), Greg Hyland (LEGO®) and Jahnoy Lindsay (Marvel Comics).
The event, which will take place at the Mississauga Central Library (301 Burnhamthorpe Rd. W.), will kick off at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Friday night’s event includes tabletop board games, Dungeons & Dragons, the escape room and more.
On Saturday, the event will open at 10:00 a.m. and close at 4:00 p.m. Attendees can enjoy an artist alley, exhibitors, workshops, panels, cosplay shoots, tabletop board game demos and video game free-play sessions.
