A Brampton woman is still in shock after scoring a lottery payday worth more than $644,000.
Kulwanti Magoo is a warehouse worker from Brampton who has been playing the lottery for some 20 years, with Lottario, Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49 as her favourite games.
The 59 -year-old said she was in disbelief when checking a Lottario ticket and found she’d won $644,486.90 in the July 1 draw.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes,” Magoo said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her prize. “My husband was thrilled for me.”
It’s been weeks since the win but Magoo says she hasn’t made any big plans on how to spend her winnings.
“I’m so happy and excited. It still hasn’t sunk in,” she said.
Lottario is a terminal lotto game with $1 tickets and draws every Saturday, and tickets purchased before 10:30 p.m. on Fridays are eligible for the Early Bird draw.
OLG says it supports safe play and responsible gambling through its PlaySmart program.
The winning ticket was purchased at Esso on Islington Ave. in Woodbridge.
