Man wanted for dangerous driving and evading police in Mississauga

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man who faces a range of charges, including reckless driving after fleeing from police in Mississauga last night.

On Friday (Sept. 22) at approximately 6:10 p.m., Peel Regional Police responded to the area of Annegem and Edwards Blvd., south of Hurontario St., for reports of an assault.

Upon arrival, police say, the accused fled the area in a 2023 White Volkswagen Atlas with the license plate number CXLR112.

According to investigators, the suspect was driving in a dangerous manner posing a risk to public and officer safety.

Officers say they attempted to stop the vehicle, but the accused sped off.

The suspect has been identified as Chirag Patel with no fixed address, and he is currently being sought for a list of charges which include assault, three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, two counts of theft under $5000, and flight from police.

In the event that Patel or the vehicle in question is located, authorities urge witnesses to immediately contact 911.
