Man stabbed in the chest critical after ‘life-saving surgery’ in Hamilton: police

One man is under arrest and another is clinging to life after being stabbed in the chest in Hamilton, police say.

The altercation happened around 7 p.m. on Thursday when the Hamilton Police Service says officers were called to The Good Shepherd Centre for reports of a stabbing.

Officers located a male victim with a stab wound to his chest and say the man was rushed to hospital where he underwent “life saving surgery.”

The victim was still in hospital in critical condition as of Friday, police said.

A 53-year-old Hamilton man was arrested at the scene and police say the suspect has been charged with aggravated assault.

The name of the accused has not been released.
